Probably will be fixed in the new Forum upgrade.

Is that the only difference between discussion and question? Anything to do with voting on posts (the thumbs)? Presumably that irony ^ is because this thread is discussion?

I'm sure the new Forum layout is already in Beta and you will probably have an opportunity to make the point when it's rolled out to invited testers.

Human nature to take and not give or even just to say thank you, sad isn't it !

Patient be, young Jedi - it's on its way and we have Joe's assurance he will be shouting its arrival from the highest hill in Tom's. Have you not taken part in the Beta or read the International Forums posts on the subject? From the limited participation my workload gave me the chance to make, I can say it's going to be a lot better. once the UK Forum is integrated fully into the US. Our Badges will show up properly and there's an enhanced reward system to make badges more relevant and points less so.

Well calumconroy, the irony is since you asked the question but haven't considered mcnumpty23's answer as being the best, I'll award it a BA myself if you don't within a day or so, unless my memory does it's normal trick on me. :D

Hmm.. I definitely missed the part where I could choose while making the topic. Started a discussion thread the other day and spent a good 10 minutes trying to figure out how to select the best answer. Now I know there is an option when starting a topic.. and knowing is half the battle.

this may have been sorted in the new forum update

to make the default a question instead of a discussion

dont know for sure as dont normally ask questions

I changed the thread to a question so a BA could be selected then chose mcnumpty23's reply. Posters can always ask a Mod to do the same if they think someone's response deserves a Best Answer in a thread that started off as a Discussion.
