Hello all I am hoping someone can help me find out what my problem is -- searched quite a bit for an answer but found nothing -- I am assuming this is the proper forum sub-category to post this in,

System Specs:
Monitor: Samsung Syncmaster SA350 (cables/connections checked all good, purchased new in December 2012)

Graphics card: Asus GT440 (updated drivers to latest, still encounter the problem)

Scanner/Security: Microsoft Security Essentials with latest updates,complete scans find nothing.

OS: Win7 64bit

Sometimes my monitor's screen will turn completely black out for a second or two, then it will come back on. The monitor's power light does not change during this time.

Sometimes it will flicker off and on just once, other times it may flicker on and off 2-3 times in a row.

I have noticed when it flicks back on the mouse cursor is re-centered into the middle of the screen. Sometimes my web browser will be moved or scrolled.

It seems to happen most often when an internet browser is being used (Firefox/IE). When I am playing fullscreen online games I don't seem to have this problem at all even during extended sessions.

This problem doesn't happen constantly but it happens enough to be annoying. I can go for hours at a time without having this problem.

Just bumping this back up, been about a month and still haven't figured out whats causing this. Added a video too

- Updated my graphics driver
- tried different browsers
- tried updating/uninstalling shockwave etc

Correction:
All you need to do is download the Firmware for your product. In this case, you can find it at
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/S27A350H
When you download and install the update, be sure the monitor is plugged in and connected via VGA (not HDMI). Run the Program under your Start>Programs and the program will detect the problem.
You will then see it updating the firmware. do not unplug!
It should turn off and just manually turn it on. It should would.

[strike]It seems that you may need to do a hardware fix by replacing an 8-legged SOIC flash chip.

I solved this myself by doing enough Googling and locating an obscure YouTube video about this common problem. The video led back to the supply source mentioned below.

To "un-brick" a SA350 or one of it's sister models you can carefully separate the plastic clamshell housing/bezel that encases the LCD panel and circuit board inside taking great care to use a plastic tool to "pop" the interlocks. Once you are able to gain access to the circuit board the very small 8-legged SOIC flash chip (IC401 location on the PCB) must be replaced with another pre-programmed one from http://daitech.ca ---> Store ---> Samsung & look up based on model# with or without HDMI. You may not see your exact model# listed based on the size of your screen but the model series will be the same. I have successfully repaired my model using the MX chip from the website mentioned instead of the unavailable Winbond version in my original post. The chip arrives in 7 days from order and the repair takes about 15 minutes including dis-assembly/re-assembly. There are supposedly some programmed Winbond chips available from China through eBay but I prefer not to take the chance on that versus the above mentioned source."
