Oh well - I thought that I was on to something. btw, what is the page limit?

I have no idea as the software was changed between the time that thread was started and this one arose. This thread could well take the title of 'Longest thread that had any point' or 'Longest thread without any fights or flame wars' but 'Longest thread ever' is a difficult one to award as some (in theory) are still going.

OK, I'll settle for that :D

hmmm i think i been blind to this little link as i dont remember it at all.

https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/FAHClient/roadmap

Road maps for the version 7 client.

In the next 8 days from now, there should be a 2nd phase of this beta.

What this means, i have no idea. Maybe they will finally put it on there official site? :heink:

How on earth do you find these pages?
July 22, 2011 3:50:49 PM

Nice, hopefully it will iron out some of the annoying problems v7 has.

Warmon has a nose for these things, hence his Guru status.

Habit of relooking looking at things (even when there no mention of changes), other people pointing them out, ect.

Maybe i should be putting this type of search to good use in the BD thread.  Then again, i typically like to stay on the sidelines on those types of threads.....

Not sure if it will iron out anything as if i look at when V7 was release on the roadmap, i find on the road map "open beta phase 1". So, im not sure what's going on exactly.

Then again, they could launch an updated version of the client thats not listed on the road map who knows? I'll keep an ear out if any news comes up.

Well just coz I couldn't resist I dropped a bigadv on v7 and its gone through fine.

Took a while as the 920 is chugging along @3.8, nearly 45 mins tpf, still got 68k credit though. :D

Might try another.

http://folding.typepad.com/news/2011/07/new-serverstats...

Quote:
New serverstats page

We've developed a new serverstat page, which we're now suggesting as a replacement for the old one. The new one is more asthetically pleasing but also has a lot of changes under the hood to allow for more reliable and faster updates.

We're keeping the old serverstat page link pointing to the old page (i.e. no change) in case there were scripts that were parsing the old page. However, we've set the new page to update every 10 minutes and the old one to only update every hour. We will keep the old page up for at least two months to give 3rd party utilities a chance to update their code and to give us feedback (please post feedback to http://foldingforum.org ).

Link to the new server stat page:

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/pybeta/serverstat.html

definitely much better than the old server stat page: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/serverstat.html

This will make identifying problematic servers much easier. (good if your having issue connecting to certain server)

^Nice. :D

Looks like BHolland is about to get his No:2 spot back from DD, where are you DD??

Picked up another bigadv a 2692, much quicker TPF than the 2684, about 32 mins, will see what the points are like.

If I remember rightly the bigadv units had a points boost before this latest decrease so they are virtually back to what they were, still seem like good earners.
July 26, 2011 11:46:05 AM

I think 2684 is one of the worst bigadv (if I remember correctly). I think I got a 2685 and was relieved when I checked online and saw all the complaints for 2684.

July 27, 2011 7:43:46 PM

I'm gonna crank mine up, its cold and wet here.

Thought AK was leaving some of his rigs on.

Could I actually top the table for the 1st time?[:badge:5]

YOU CAN DO IT! [:badge:5]

Mentioning that. While this isn't folding related, here another guy that "can do it" when it comes to taking on 2 different groups.

[:badge:3]

1 guy takes down 2 major hacker groups. Thats just funny!
July 28, 2011 3:05:25 AM

I'll switch back on, at least for tonight/tomorrow. Still pretty hot here though.

sorry, they wont do it. Many people tried. :(
July 29, 2011 12:20:11 PM

Seems like AK has fired up again, I may have missed my chance.

Plus I can't seem to pick up a bigadv, now on my 4th or 6th smp unit???

Congrats BHolland, back in your favorite No:2 spot. :D

To the folks that run their GPU's 24/7 to fold. How long does your hardware typically last?

Well, as long as you keep the gpu clear of dust, it can last a very long time as there still people folding on the geforce 8xxx gpu's
July 29, 2011 4:46:09 PM

@baralis I had some random system failures when folding GPU/CPU together but I believe that had more to do with my POS Dell PSU than anything.

If you have adequate cooling and power I wouldn't be concerned about it. If you are concerned limit your GPU to 8hrs a day or so and give it a break overnight or something.

They did start giving me my really high PPD A4 SMPs again, so I'm happy.

You getting some new hardware then? :na:

I've got everything I own running so I can do no more.

Think I may have picked one up now but I'm not there to check.

I am enjoying my time at No:1 on the table while it lasts as I know AK will be back!!

August 2, 2011 6:12:12 PM

^ :D  As much as I'm enjoying my No:1 Producer status I'm really hoping that someones gonna knock me off it soon.

We could be moving up the table if we could start chucking out somewhere near the points we were not so long ago.

^I think that makes sense. :heink:

Well the parts for my clients PC should be turning up tomorrow so with that on soak test and my own rig on duty you may get some competition.

I got my new Seasonic X-750 installed into my main comp and am letting it (and my secondary comp, which got a ram upgrade) fold overnight for testing.

I was expecting a lot out of X-750, yet still I was surprised. The build and solder quality on that thing is amazing, and even fully loaded the fan only turns on for short periods. I really hope this thing lasts (i.e., doesn't have a defect - because if it is fully working it will last a very long time). And of course, 80+ Gold is always nice, even if Platinum is coming out to steal the crown.

Got a bit of an issue atm but I'll be back soon also.

Nice points Mouseman, what are the 580's chucking out on default??

I've only got the one 580 rig on the go at the moment as the others seem to have been put on hold (or they've fallen through) but this one seems to be chucking out about 30k a day.

I have been put on standby right now...issues with Windows. May go to Unix/Linux. Ubuntu or Mint...still don't know.
