Hi
I am currently building my first gaming desktop and have chosen on the following components. I think they are all compatible but want to get this checked first as I don't want to waste my money!

Blu Ray Drive Pioneer BDR-S07XLT
Case Zalman Z9 U3
CPU Intel i7 3770
Graphics Card Sapphire Radeon HD7770
HDD Seagate 2TB Barracuda
Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V
Power OCZ ZS750W
RAM Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB
Windows Windows 7 HP 64 bit
Card Reader Xenta All in 1 Internal Card Reader

I am happy to answer any further questions if needed and thanks for your help!

That card reader is junk. For gaming spend less on the CPU and more on the GPU. No need to get the 3770. Get the 3570K. If you're not overclocking get the 3470.

That PSU is an OK choice, get the Corsair or Seasonic instead. I'd also ditch the Blu Ray burner - the playback software costs an extra $100 a license and doesn't always work 1/2 the time. Ditch that, drop your CPU, and upgrade your GPU to a Radeon 7950 or a GTX 660TI.

What is your budget?

This is costing currently £900 and dont really want to spend much more than that. For the blu ray- doesn't it come with software already?

£900. I am wanting to keep the i7 as I read that they are good for photo/video editing and do plan on doing photo editing in the near future. I have changed to a normal DVD burner and the Corsair 750W CXM PSU. In regards to the Graphics Card, im not wanting to spend as much as those ones you've suggested. As you know I am currently looking at the HD 7770 1GB but have found the Gigabyte GTX 650 2GB. Is this a better choice? My budget for the GPU is about £130 now I've lowered the optical drive. Do you suggest any better card readers? Thanks for any help again

Video editing maybe, depends how much and the depth of it. Photo, not really, i5 is fine. You want this as a gaming rig and you only want to get a low end card? Doesn't really make much sense. What i have suggested is a good, balanced build.

If you could squeeze in a GTX 660 (even a base one) that will be far better than a GTX 650 would be. Try this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£221.94 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: ASRock Z75 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£69.44 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£85.29 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£53.56 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: OCZ Vector Series 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£106.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card (£220.99 @ Dabs)
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case (£59.99 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (£82.08 @ Amazon UK)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (£11.45 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £911.68

Hi
Thanks for this. I have changed some of my components including the processor. The new list is as follows
Optical Drive GH24NS90
Case Zalman Z9 U3
CPU Intel i5 3570k
GPU
HDD Seagate 2TB Barracuda
Motherboard ASUS P8Z77-V
Power Corsair 750W CXM
RAM KHX1600C9D3P1K2
Windows Windows 7 HP 64 bit
Card Reader Xenta All in 1 Internal Card Reader

Except, Im not sure what GPU to get, My budget can now go up to £200 but preferably around £170. Hence, the one you suggested is too much. Can you suggest a cheaper one in my price range please and comment on the new spec? Thanks

This is just on the mark and is almost as powerful as a 7950. You should get a lower wattage PSU as you don't need that much.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: Club 3D Radeon HD 7870 XT 2GB Video Card (£171.62 @ Amazon UK)

Also if you get the 'k' version i5 for over clocking you will want to get a good after market cooler, if you dont want to overclock just get the 3470 and a cheaper H77 board.

Thanks, I plan to in the future bridge my GPU so am getting a higher wattage PSU now to save money in the future, also I may get some other cards. The 'k' 3570 is only about £4 dearer and although I dont plan to now, I may overclock in the future. Ill look into that GPU, thanks again
