Hi guys, i'm looking to built a budget gaming pc ($600). I will be light gaming but mostly working and stuff ! :) I was thinking of putting :

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

MSI Z77A-G41 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Toshiba 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

MSI Radeon HD 7770 1GB Video Card

Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case

Antec Basiq Plus 550W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply

Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

I'm over budget ): Please Help me pick what to add and remove. d

If it's light gaming, then a 7770 will do, my suggestion, the antec vp-450 will be more than sufficient for it, it's a good psu for the price.

Thank You for the quick reply !! :) Will it be necessary to get a 3570k for maybe future overclocking?..

Better GPU, slightly slower CPU.

Okay Thanks!! :) is ASRock a good and reliable brand?
Also, would you think i would need to overclock the i5 at all?

You can overclock with the z75 board, but just raise more 400 mhz, and that's it with these cpus, if you want more, you have to get the i5-3570k and an aftermarket cooler, but the i5 partially locked plus z75 pro 3 will do, though, for the price, i recommend getting the i5-3470, since it has the igp(if you need it) and slightly more clock speed, and it's not much more expensive.
Also that board is good for the price and it's reliable.
Also it should be noted the g-unit1111 build is not 616$, but $656.39 before mir(Base Total: $656.39), you have to pay that upfront and then wait for the mail in rebates, just a note, if you intend to keep in about 600$ without mir, if you're including mir, it's a good option.
If it's for casual gaming a 7770 will do, if you intend to play some demanding games, then a 7850 will be better.

Alright !! Is there a difference between the z77 and z75 chipsets? I'd probably just go with a 7770 because i won't play very intense games.

which would be better , an i5 or a FX-6300? An FX-6300 has six cores so it would be better for rendering but with just browsing, working, gaming .. which one?!

The i5-3470 is a faster cpu overall(gaming and rendering) and has a lower power consumption :

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/fx-8350-8320-6300-4300_5.html#sect1

As for the difference between the z75 and z77, mainly is the ssd caching, and some pcie expansion slots(for multiple cards), you don't need those features with the current setup, so the z75 pro 3 will do just fine, it has plenty of features for the price, it was used in toms hardware 600$ recent build.

1. Yes

2. No need on this build and the 3350P can't be overclocked.

So basically the Z77 and the Z75 have not much of a difference right?

CPUs are identically close to perfomance and trade blows depending on the application. Going with FX 6300 means

a)you get a better GPU so better gaming perfomance

b)you can upgrade later because AM3+ socket will hold at least another generation of CPUs. LGA 1155 is being replaced now, so no more future upgrades

But socket AM3 is how many years old now? Until they release a new socket they're never going to catch up with Intel in terms of sheer CPU performance no matter how fast they make their CPUs.

First of all it's AM3+ not AM3...Secondly I wouldn't care how many years old it is. All I know is that AMD announced that next generation CPUs will be supported by AM3+!

They're already catch or even pass Intel in CPU perfomance depending the program/game. Secondly this is a gaming build and In such builds you should aim for the best possible GPU. And that's where AMD comes...same perfomance for 40$ less + better and upgradeable motherboards so saved money go for 7870

I think the title of the thread is misleading, the OP stated this : "I will be light gaming but mostly working and stuff "
And there's no proof yet, that the next amd cpus will run in the am3+ socket or that they're announced, rumors said only for 2014, and how knows it might be for a new socket or not.
For now intel takes the lead, and the i5 is the best option(though, the FX-6300 is also a good cpu for lower budgets) within the op budget, and for light gaming, a low end card will do.

Because it isn't needed if it's light gaming and most work and stuff ?
And those are just rumors, it's what it is, the second link is hardly to trust and it's old(226 days ago).
Until there's an official announcement it's just speculation.
And the fact is for today or for tomorrow the i5 is a better cpu, now if the op wants to go a bit cheaper, the fx-6300 is also a good cpu for the price, but the i5 is better and it fits in the budget.

MD has said that its upcoming Vishera chip will not be the last to use Socket AM3+.

AMD's desktop Piledriver processor, which is better known by its Vishera codename, will use the firm's Socket AM3+, effectively meaning the chip is a drop-in replacement from previous generation Zambezi processors. The firm said that it will continue to support the AM3+ socket and that this won't be the last processor to use the socket.

Directly from the first link. I say what I have to say...I'll let ressurection64 decide now

AM3+ is pretty much the exact same socket as AM3, it was just meant for a guideline for motherboard manufacturers on how to tailor their BIOS to the latest chips.

I completely agree on getting the best GPU you can get for the money but having a good CPU helps too.

The FX-6300 has a higher power consumption, some might say that am3+ has an upgrade path to the steamroller cpus, but as of it now i would get the best cpu possible, you can upgrade to an i7-3770k(totally unnecessary) with the intel, but there's no more cpus coming for the lga 1155.
It's up to you to see what's best for you.
