I think some improvements have been made with the new layout, while not a fan of other changes. All of that aside though, I was wondering if there are any plans to bring back the former user rankings (ie. expert, addict, etc)? I kind of liked those as an instant indication of how long and to what affect someone has been using the site.

You are better off hovering over the person's avatar and checking their join date and number of best answers. Those ranks were based on the points system that we previously had, and it wasn't that difficult to get a high-ish rank in a short period if you posted prolifically.

First Impression: About the equivalent of going fro XP to vista or Win 98 -> ME
Worked hard for rank plus number of best answers to have them flushed.

Whoa I just hovered over your name and you've been a member since 1969. This new system's tellin' me that you're the man to talk to around here.

1) Tom's was not around in 1969 (big clue - My first computer was not until 1987 and that was an 8086. Internet was much later) - That was a date that was assigned all members that were onboard when they did a major revision.
What was lost was the # of best answers which was a much better indicator than how long a person has been a member.

Update: read in another post that they will be updated later this week,
So judgement was premature.

Dec 31st 1969 eh? I guess I'm a day older than before the changeover where I joined on Jan 1st 1970.
