Hi all,

I've been debating for about a month now if my gaming laptop, which I bought about 2-2 1/2 years ago needs to be upgraded. If I decided to upgrade it, I'd probably build a new gaming desktop instead of buying a new laptop.
Here are the specs for the laptop:

Intel core I7 Q740
ATI Mobility Readon 5850 GPU
6 GB ram
500 GB Hard drive
1920x1080p resolution

Would it be worth building a new desktop? Also, here is the build I have so far incase I upgrade: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/J7cj

If your laptop still gives you decent amount of FPS when playing your favrite games, then there's no need to upgrade. But if it isn't, then it's time to upgrade to a desktop.
I checked your build and it's a bit messy so I tweaked it and for the price, You should get this:

I chose 750 watts so if ever you decided to crossfire, you still have extra power. The PSU is a good one as it is a seasonic build inside, just re branded as XFX. :)
