Installed XP. But there are still problems

I finally got the XP installer to see the SATA drives. Had to change this one setting in the BIOS to some sort of IDE emulation mode.

So I get thru the install. Two issues I can see. First, XP constantly, and I mean constantly, brings up the new hardware wizard to install drivers for the RealTek audio, even thought I installed those drivers via the MB driver CD. And the audio works even though windows seems to think the driver is not there.

Second. When I go to windows update, the site says it cannot display the update page. This may be a site problem, so I'll give that another try tonight. I also have SP3 on a disk, so I'll install that before I try the update site again.

Any ideas on that audio driver snafu?

Steps for a good clean XP setup.
Install base XP
Install SP3
Install Chipset drivers
Install the rest of the drivers, best to get them all from the vendor web site rather than the disk as they are often updated.
Download and install IE8 manually
Run Windows Updates
