Need Help with dual monitors!

Hey guys, so I recently got a second monitor and I want to game on one and have the other have like temp stats and my recording software and maybe a video. But when I run a game the display gets messed up on the second monitor and when i click on a program on the second monitor the game gets minimized. Is there a program that I need for this or something I need to tweak?

and on a side note when I live stream the picture looks messed up on the stream.

my specs are:

I5 3570K

MSI GTX 660

It might not be the same but i had a issue with my second monitor, i turned off windows aero and changed colours to basic and it solved my problem on the second monitor when gaming
