Hey guys,

So I'm working on my first build and still need a PSU. Here's what I have so far...

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro4 ATX
GPU: an old Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 MB
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB DDR3 1600 (2x4GB)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm 1 TB, 64MB
Case: NZXT Gamma Classic
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

I also plan to run 3-4 fans in the case and may buy a cpu cooler down the road. I definitely will upgrade the GPU sometime in the next year as well.

I'm not sure if I can get buy with something under 500w and still leave room for potential upgrades. I definitely value quality and efficiency, but price is a big factor too. I'd like to spend less than $70 shipped. The ones I've looked at are:

-Corsair Builder CX500
-Thermaltake Tough Power TP-550P
-XFX Core Edition PRO550W
-Seasonic S12II 520W
-Antec VP-450

I'm open to any suggestions, thanks!

Hi - To run a sys with a gts640, a quality 350w unit is enough.
You are prob going to want to upgrade that card in the near future
assuming you are going to be gaming with this rig. So, if that's the case
and the XFX 550pro fits your budget, that's a real good choice.
If you are def not going to upgrade the gpu, then get the Antec 450
