Hello everyone thank you for taking the time to help me out.
My Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 940 @ 2.93GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
Motherboard: MSI X58 Pro
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280
Memory: 8GB RAM
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
850W PSU

My question is if I upgrade my video card to the GTX 680 will it be limited by my motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130221)

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

your mobo will support any gpu.it has pci 2.0 slot and pci 3.0gpu are backward compaitable with pci 2.0,1.0 v slot.there will be no performance loss if you put pci 3.0 gpu in pci 2.0 slot.

see here no measurable difference @pci exp 16

i suggest go with gtx 670 2gb as there is just 5%performance difference between gtx 670 and 680 + big price gap.gtx 680 is not worthwile orif you want fastest gpu then get hd 7970.
