PCI-E First Slot Faulty?

I have a eVGA 3-way SLI for a long time. I had my 5870 installed on the 2nd PCI slot that's x16/x8 for a long time as well. However, recently I decided to add a new 5870 to xfire. I added it to the first slot the x16 slot. Now my monitor and other things are hooked up to my original GPU (I made sure xfire is enabled and I checked TechpowerUP-Z it shows 2 Core on GPU) but if I hook it up to my new GPU, it won't show anything. I booted in with my monitor hooked up on my first GPU, it won't load drivers for it and screen resolution will be really crappy. Catalyst Control Center will not detect a GPU.

Update:
Now, when using both graphics card, booting into windows while monitor is hooked on the new gpu works, and on the old gpu, no signal is detected.

Problem is solved when first gpu is removed and monitor hooked on the original gpu. But, now I can't crossfire. What's wrong with my first PCI-E slot =/
