Built a new computer with the following stats several months ago:
*windows home 7, 64bit
*16 gig g.skill ram (8g2x)
*XFX r7870 gfx card
*ASrock 870 extreme4 mobo
*970 watt antec PSU
*amd fx 8-core processor black ed.
*running 2 HDD's

This was not the first computer I've built, but the first to give me problems like this. Things going on:

-Random grey striped screens of death upon graphic card update
-Graphic card only runs without crashing on stock drivers
-Computer won't remove delete desktop items until a reboot takes place
-Folders show old name title in path
-Folders randomly change from classic folder icon to upside down notepad icon
-Photo previews inside of folders riddled in artifacts
-only 2 of the memory slots on MOBO work
-Folder previews sometimes display things that are not actually inside the folder

Since only 2 of the memory slots work on the mobo, the mobo obviously has some issues and I am wondering if mobo is corrupting other things -- like my graphics card? Though I also wonder if my OS simply needs a re-installation?

I've already contacted the ASROCK and Gskill and they want me to do an RMA. But this is a work computer and I can't really be without it to wait on an RMA especially if they test the equipment and can not find anything wrong.

Do my symptoms sound familiar to anyone? I'd like to pin point the problem and go from there. Thanks!

*Bump* Anybody?

Also remembered that computer takes itself out of sleep all of the time, and when I do get it to sleep and wake it up it won't ask for password a lot of the time, even though I have it set to.
