Why on earth are we hosting 1800 + pages of forum posts going back to the year 2000 ? That's just pages lord alone knows how many actual posts that comes out at.
Wouldn't the server be a bit faster without all that baggage ?

Hi Mac :)

SOMETHING certainly needs to be done to speed up the server....on average going to a new link takes me between 6 and 7 seconds.... and I have 100mb download speed....

Maybe BOM needs to pay for a bigger pipe....

All the best Brett :)

A lot of those are threads with solid answers that users head to Tom's Hardware specifically to research. We do have an archiving process, but with the sheer volume of content we have here, with literally thousands of new threads per month, we have to be careful about what we send to the cornfields and what gets to stay behind. Some of the most active threads are also some of the oldest.
