So i recently got

MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16

and it runs pretty good but i see some screen tearing and i think i fixed it for now but the new games coming out need a good graphics card. So i thought if needed to later i could always get another one and run SLI but now i see that SLI probably isn't the best option as most games aren't made to run off of 2 cards (maybe the games coming out will but i may just be better off with a better card)

Should i go up to the 670 .. there's some with a rebate for 20 off i would only have to spend 140 more but on peoples posts like this others ask to see the rest of their build to see if its worth it. or should i just keep using my card and then later on buy a nicer one? i mean is there really going to be much improvement for 140$

CPU INTEL|CORE I5 3570K 3.4G 6M R

ASROCK|Z77 EXTREME4 Z77 1155 R

MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL

256 GB crucial SSD

Acer S231HLbid Black 23" 5ms

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7

the only thing that is better with the 670 (in newegg specs) is the CUDA Cores, about a little less than 400 more on the 670 than the 660 i have and memory input is 256 not 192-bit

i would like to stick with nvidia... thanks for the help and opinions much appreciated. i would like not to go higher than 400 hopefully less.. like this one is on sale for 20$ off

also is HDMI or DVI better to use for 1080 output? thanks

If you have a decent psu within 600W, i rather get another 660 gtx, two 660 gtx will be far better and the second one will cost you less, your motherboard supports SLI, most aaa games supports SLI setups.
Or just stay with your current 660 gtx.

If you want a faster graphics card, then yes you should upgrade to the 670. Or, turn down visual effects a bit in newer games.

Also, dvi and hdmi carry the exact same signal. video quality will be 100% the same.

Also, that 140$ upgrade cost, imo, is not worth it unless you desire ONLY to play with the graphics all the way up. In most games, the difference between ultra and near high is not very noticeable during gameplay, only when you stop to pay attention. Only you can decide if it is worth it or not.

Ya thanks guys saved me 140 $ you're right its totally not worth it :) and since u said most games support SLI i could always get a second one.. i think where i read that games don't support SLI was from 2008 post so its probably not valid anymore and i usually always look for a posted date but i guess i overlooked it with 7 tabs open  have a good day!

Your psu will do for another 660 gtx, easily, if you want better performance, get another 660 gtx(better performance vs 670 gtx for less money), if you're satisfied with you current single 660 gtx, then just stay with it.
