I've been messing with the "OC Tuner" option in my BIOS trying to get it to work. most of the time it says "overclocking failed F1 to go to setup". But I managed to get into windows after a few tries. I opened up CPU-z when it was idle and it displayed ~3.9ghz but if I try to strain the CPU it seems to underclock dow to 2.8GHZ which concerns me. I'm running a 3930k which stock is 3.2GHZ. here are some pictures of CPU-z : http://imgur.com/a/9Y4hf .

I really don't even want to overclock my CPU I just want to overclock my ram to it's advertised speed (2400MHZ). But when I set it in the bios to 2400 cpu-z says its only at 961.4 mhz and that doesn't change under load. Thanks

Hi, some CPUs may be locked from overclocking and this may cause sometimes programs read wrong the clock, so go for an update. Also you need to change voltages in BIOS, try that before updating :D (Extreme care! 0,0003 V more and your PC is gone!)
