I am trying to build a gaming desktop and have set a budget more or less around $1000 (AU).

The idea is that I want it to play all of the latest games very well and also still be capable of playing the latest games (moderately at least perhaps) for at least 2 years in the future.

I would love any opinions and suggestions on how I could save more money or create a more effective build.

Thanks in advance!

Processor - Core i5-3570K - $250(AU)
(From what I have read this is ideal)

Motherboard - ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 - $100(AU)

RAM - 8GB
(Brands?)

Graphics card - NeVidia GTX 670? - $400ish(AU)
(Something like that... Need help here)

HD - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB - $100(AU)

Cooling system - ????

Case - HAF 912 Cool Master - $100(AU)

Power Supply - ????? 650W+???
(Also need help here! :( )

Alternately - contrary to popular opinion here, I'd consider leaving the SSD off and investing in a better GPU:

Okay so... I am thinking of buying this? Opinion(s) please :)

- i5 3570k processor
- Corsair Vengence 8GB (2x4gb)
- ASrock Z77 Extreme 4 Mobo
- EVGA 2G GTX670
- Coolermaster HAF 912 Mid tower case
- WD caviar black 1tb HD
- Aerocool strike x 800W silver 80+
- Noctua CPU cooler NH-U9B

All comes to about $1250 (AU)

Where have a gone wrong? Or do you think this build will be good? Scale of 1 - 10?

I'm not entirely sure about that power supply but the rest of that build looks pretty good. This is what I would suggest on $1250:

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Storage: OCZ Vertex 4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($139.00 @ Scorptec)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($72.00 @ PCCaseGear)
