I'm building a new computer, and have come to decide between the AMD A10-5800K and the Intel Core i3-3225. The prices are close enough not to be an issue. I already own a AMD Radeon HD 6670 (PCI Express 2.1, 2GB DDR3) and plan on installing that. My goal for this computer is the best gaming experience.

(Don't know if this changes anything, but I will be using an ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard)

Opinions/Facts? Thanks in advance for the advice. Also, if you have any recommendations for a completely different CPU around the same price (about $150) I'd be glad for you to share.

Thanks for the quick response, I looked at the FX 6300 and definitely like it better, I also looked at the Asrock 970 extreme4 and saw very few, if any, setbacks from the Z77 (correct me if I'm wrong). The problem is I already own the 6670. I can look for the receipt and try to return it, but what GPU would you suggest? My price range would be around $125-$150, or I could just save up while using the 6670 for a better one.

Only $25 extra, I can manage that. I'll be ordering the FX6300, ASRock 970 extreme4, and that graphics card right away! :) Thank you very much for the help!

yes a fx 6300 and motherboard and a gpu like a 7770/650 ti is better, but i would get the a10 to hybrid crossfire with the 6670. Even if u dont use the hybrid graphics, the a10 has a cpu similar to the phenom ii x4 955, and FM2 is getting another generation of apus, where lga 1155 is not. The i3 wont be bottlenecked by most gpus where the A10 may be some higher end gpus.

Yes A a10, or i3 can run on a 430watt, saying because the corsair cx 430 along with the antec 400watt are the best low wattage psus, but can run a overclocked cpu plus something like a 650,7770 and easily the 6670, even if its the one that requires a power connection, that 520watt psu if quality will power a 125watt cpu and a 2gen old power hungry 5850.

So whats the model of the psu?

Just something I bought in a hurry at Best Buy... It's a DX-520WPS ATX Power Supply

Dynex is not a great brand i would trust a raidmax power supply over a dynex, if ur already using it, u should be fine but anything newer upgrade wise id get a new psu, if u were to get a new psu i would recommended a 500-600watt for upgradability, and a brand like corsair, seasonic, ocz, xfx.

Edit: Raidmax isnt a great brand either, had one never ever going to use them again. It didnt die or kill my parts but their quality and output are not worth saving the money
