case and monitor suggestions for my new build (and general input)

after about 4 weeks of searching around and being indecisive (i hate new builds) i think i have the winning combo for now. the current case i have was when i was going with an asrock h77m motherboard which is out the picture now but i have no idea how to select cases and if they're compatible haha. ok, on to the build:

• Case
Rosewill REDBONE u3 Mid-Tower ($40)
AMD Phenom II 965 BE 140W ($50)
• Motherboard
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H AM3+ ($50)
• Graphics Card
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 XT w/Boost 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 ($240)
Mushkin Radioactive 997005 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600MHz Desktop RAM ($50)
Western Digital WD Blue WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (free)
ASUS 24X DVD Burner ($24)
• Power Supply
XFX Core Edition PRO550W (P1-550S-XXB9) 550W ATX12V 2.2 & ESP12V 2.91 ($75)
• Monitor
ASUS VS Series VS238H-P ($150)

my main concern now is a new case if this one doesn't work and maybe a slightly cheaper monitor? the reason for the older mobo and cpu is that i can get both for $100 which is a really good price in my opinion and i can always upgrade in a while, maybe when the new amd processors come out, but that's for another day...thanks in advance yall

More about case monitor suggestions build general input
  1. amd fx 6300 and mobo 970 will be a very good pair to deliver 7870 XT performance :) phenom is too old
  2. ASUS VS Series VS238H-P Black 23" is a great buy at $120 AR

As far as case, your case would work perfectly fine. COOLER MASTER HAF XB RC-902XB-KKN1 is nice if it is within your budget,
  3. AMD Radeon said:

i knew i would have issues with this all haha. so you suggest these two parts? these would work with the case as well?

OR for now i might go with the older stuff and then upgrade when i have the money....will the bottleneck be noticeable?
