Hello all, This is my first post here haha. Anway,

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A215-S722 that I put an Intel SSD into (a few months back) shortly after, re-installing Vista via the recovery disk. Now, it seems that I am unable to Upgrade to service pack 1. This is kinda concerning seeing how Vista itself tends to be kinda unstable without any service packs and also is less secure and is not supported.

Anyway, I've tried installing SP1 through windows update, and as an individual file. Both failed, the most recent reporting error 80070005.

Here are the laptop's specs:

  • AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-58, x64 Family 15
Intel SSDSA2CW080G3 80GB Solid State Drive
    ATI Radeon X1200
    RAM: About 2.5 GB
    Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Just to add to the mod's post, I had problems with this too last time I did it. I restarted it, ran both the standalone and the update, still no avail...found out that one of my virus programs was blocking it silently. Check to see if maybe they are doing something that you don't know about :)
