Using laptop as a DSL modem ?

Recently our old router broke and I'd like to know if using a laptop as a router could be a temporary fix. It's a Lenovo thinkpad Z61t and has a phone socket in it. I also have a big pond wireless router but it doesn't have a phone socket because its for 3G. Is there someway I could put these two together for ADSL to work?

It won't work. The modem in this laptop is for dial-up.
