I'm looking to build my first computer soon, my laptop is old now and I want to get back into gaming.
I need it to be multi purpose (photo editing, watching movies, office homework) but would like it to handle games well.
I'm looking to build something solid for around $800, mainly looking to get good graphics, MB and CPU and leave huge amounts of storage and RAM to add in later when they're cheaper and I have use for them.
No cooling yet as I'm not wanting to overclock straight away, but I would definitely want the ability to.
As it stands I think I'm pretty much there, I've got $50 left for a case which I've yet to decide on.
Any thoughts on more appropriate parts etc would be great to hear before I buy!

Here you go, this is an alternative to yours, this has an upgraded CPU and GPU, for 20 dollars less, and the graphics card is the difference between ultra in games, I have this exact model and I play ultra in bf3. I changed the motherboard out to H77 because its a better option if your not overclocking, which I guessed you weren't. I also got a slighty cheaper blu ray, I kept it cause I thought you might have wanted it for your movies, but you can easily changed it out to like 15-20 dollar DVD drive. I kept the case up to you again, I always have trouble choosing them haha

Cheers, would have gone for the 3470 but price is more expensive now. Might go for it anyway just to have graphics to fall back on in case GPU fails.
Yeah originally I was just going to go for the cheapest possible DVD drive in case I have to use CDs, then I thought I might as well go for blu ray if I'm getting a decent monitor, then I thought hell, I'll get one that can write blu ray too for an extra 10 bucks...
I may go ahead and splash out on the 7870 graphics. It was actually my preferred choice but went down to the 7850 to stay on budget. Other thought was to stick with the 7850 and possible go for a crossfire configuration further down the line if i find it lacking, though I've not really looked in to how best to go about that.
I'm gonna stick with my MB, mainly because I may want to OC down the line and secondly the colors fit with the look that I have in mind lol.
