Hey guys,

Just downloaded Prime95 to test out the my turbo to 3.7Ghz and using CPUID to record the temperature.

It seems during the torture test the CPU went up around 70'C, I'm guessing this is far too much right?

And if this is the case, is that the sort of temperature I'd be looking at in-game?

Finally, the turbo seems to be permanently on at 3.7GHz (The box it came in said 4GHz some reason) So I temporarily disabled it in AOD. Is there anything I should/shouldn't be doing right now?

Edit: Ambient temp with turbo's off (back down to 3.4ghz) is 49'C..

Thanks.

That Temp is under full load which I dont think a game will get up to full load. 70C is pretty high. I'm assuming you have a 965? Alot of things can affect temps. Could be the thermal paste to your fan setup including fan and heatsink. The ambient temp of 49c even seems high to me. I have a 955 (3.2ghz stock) running at 3.8 and dont even get temps that high at full load.

No mate it's a 750k, it's strange as the BIOs reads ambient temp at 32'C, so I'm not sure which one's telling the truth.

sorry I saw phenom and 3.4 and assumed a 965. Either way 70c is pretty high. I think I would also trust the bios over anything else. As wierd as it can be sometimes get AMD overdrive if you dont have it. You can monitor temps with that as well. I use that and coretemp and they seem to agree with eachother.

Yeah I'm using AOD at the moment, it claims my ambient temps near freezing. LOL. No worries man getting my very tech-minded mate to assess it, buying a water-cooling system next week also ^^

Thanks for the assist!
