same board, upgrading cpu, graphics, ram

Hi all

My present specs

Intel core 2 quad 2.6
Nvidia nforce 790i ultra sli Motherboard
3gb RAM
Nvidia GTX 275
Vista 32bit

I am an avid gamer.

I would like to upgrade components on my computer, CPU, RAM, Video Card.

I am considering both options of single card or sli.

I would like to however maintain the motherboard although it is dated

Questions

1. What are your suggestions of the best components, to add to this motherboard so as not to cause any bottle-necking with the motherboard and or the combination of the rest of the components?

2. Am I correct in my understanding that this mother board supports a maximum of 4gb of RAM?

I am not much versed in computers so thanks for any help!

Would replace it all... you can olny buy chips for thay socket from ebay and even then you would only be able to match it with low to mid powered cards to prevent bottlenecks and at that point I believe apus would out class it.
