Hello

How does the Asus engtx570 dcii 2dis 1280md5 stack up against Nvidia's latestest offerings such as the 660, 670, and the current AMD cards?

I have a chance to buy it for 125 dollars right now.

Upgrading from a 8600.

570 is about equal to 660 (non Ti). or 7850 from the red team. for 125 there is no current gen card can compete with 570 performance. going from 8600 to 570 will very huge performance improvement. for sure you need to double check your psu as well since 570 will consume more than twice or even triple the power compared to your 8600.

So there is not any reason to buy a 660 or 7850?

not really. it depends on your preference. for example both standard 660 and 7850 will use less power and comes with 2GB of memory as standards (there are also 7850 with 1GB of VRAM for lesser price than standard 7850). if there is a chance that a game that need more VRAM than GTX570 can provide then most likely it will choke 570's performance. but if you don't mind to turn down some setting (especially AA and AF which can eat a lot of VRAM) then it's not really a problem.
