Worries with FX 6300 and Asus M5A97 R2.0 bios update

So after I ordered all my parts for my new rig I ran into an issue.... Apparently the Asus M5A97 R2.0 requires a bios update before Vishera chips are compatible. I did check other forums as well as the product page and people have been saying that the USB BIOS Flashback feature allows for BIOS updating without a boot. (Source: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/861979.aspx) It also says "It even works without key components such as the CPU and memory installed. Just plug in any USB storage and push the dedicated button for 3 seconds." (Source: Asus M5A97 R2.0 Product Page) I'm just worried that I'll run into problems and it won't work exactly as it should. Any insight is greatly appreciated! The parts are coming Monday and I'm already starting to get cold feet :-\

I have the FX-6300 and Asus M5A97 R2.0. It worked completely fine for me without needing a bios update.

The R2.0 should have a BIOS completely compatible with your processor . It was released after the Piledriver FX's were available

Hey realchaos... How is your build? Ours are pretty similar. What kind of framerates do you get with the games you play?

On tomb raider with everything maxed out on FXAA, I get 40-50fps. That's the most demanding game I've played so far.

Sweet, you play any WoW or LOL? I know there not demanding at all... But I like my tier gear to look extra shiny :-D

I play LoL mostly. I stay at a constant 60fps, even if im streaming. I can also have tomb raider running in the background and not dip below 50.
