Router drops internet for fiance's laptop, but not my PC or laptop

Ok so I'm running an old Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 and an old(er) Dell PC with Windows 7. My fiance has a new Acer touchscreen laptop with Windows 8, Every once in awhile, the internet connection will turn to "limited or no internet connectivity" but only on her laptop. She also had this problem when the lenovo was her laptop but it didn't affect my PC at that time either. The router we have is a Linksys WRT54GL and a long time ago I used to own a WRT54G and I had a similar problem. Does anybody know what's up with this? Am I just bad with routers or what?

No, I have a wireless card in it. The router is in another room.
