Check your Spam inbox, alidan - many of my notifications are fetching up in mine since the Forum upgrade, maybe because they come from a different source. Adding the sender to your Address Book might help.

i see nothing at all in spam either...
im using gmail and i have a filter to catch anything from toms hardware in to a lable for me to notice it easily
searching my spam folder for just the word tom brings up nothing

the most recent thing i know i made a comment in was
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/web-browser-chrome-...

and its why i know something is either broken, changed or got reset and im unsure how to change it back.
for what its worth, in this forum post i did get a reply in my inbox, but not from anything else.

Hi :)

Mine are working fine, both before/during/after the upgrade, but I use an offline email program...

All the best Brett :)

lets assume that something got reset.
where would i go in my profile to change it back.

apparently anything made in forums still gets me messages, but any thing in comments on articles doesn't.

---------------------------------------

ok i just went to the forums and looked around a bit...
at the bottom, there is a thing for comments... however i will not use that, i prefer to get them delivered to my email address instead.

can anyone tell me what i need to do do get any reply to an article i make a comment in to show up in my email...
im assuming that something happened and it got undone as i get notifications from replys here, just not from comments.

ok, http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1633068/corsair-an...

i noticed that the "email me updates" is unchecked however if i post in an article, it does at least track it.
so i decided to tick the email updates on several i didnt respond to,
and on the one i linked, i did respond to it....

i am still not getting email updates.
seriously, i have no idea what to do anymore, and one of the best features of this site that kept me in conversations is broken for me at least.

if i cant keep up with comments anymore im not sure how long i will continue posting comments.

At the head of the right hand column is a personalised form listing the most recent contributions to threads into which you've posted, if that's any consolation. Tick "Unread answers only" and you won't be troubled with anything else. Maybe ticking each thread as you post into it will help the e-mails come through - mine do.

ok, i have pressed watch, i have pressed email notifications, and neither are sending things to my email address at all... whether i commented on the article or not.
this forum post, this is getting email notifications to updates.
now to test to see if there is something wrong, i went to a forum post,
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/352312-28-steamroll...
and started tracking and email updates for it.
when it gets a reply i will see if i get an email
if i don't i will try writing something in the thread
and i will see if i get a reply.

now, lets go this way.
lets assume im starting from scratch and have NO idea what so ever how to set up my account to email update for every response...
how do i set it up...

i know i had it set up in the past, but i'm assuming something went wrong at this point, and i cant find in the cp where the setting would be, its either not obvious or im completely missing something.

Sometimes resetting the e-mail address cures these problems. Go into your Profile and change the e-mail address - any address such as abscdef@aaa.com will do the trick. Restart the browser and go back in the Profile and put the address back to your actual and see if that sorts things out.

Your profile, then Forum Settings, then Notify me of updates by default should be checked.
That way any new thread you start participating in will send you updates via email.

ok. i have tried many thing so far.

i tried manually pressing send me emails on comments i make,
i have it set to automatically send me emails,
but i get nothing in comments.
i changed my email, than changed it back, nothing
i even made a new account here and tried to see if it was just something on my account and my email
new email, new account, and i get nothing.

things like this still send me emails, but nothing related to the articles will...

im going to add watch and email to a bunch of them to see if anything changes, but if it doesn't, i cant see myself commenting, or even spending much tim on this site anymore. i use to try to keep up as best i could with articles and comments, but now that i dont get email updates, im not sure if i will even comment.

Actually, now that there's an advisory box on the top of the right hand column listing all the threads I've posted into which have more recent replies, I find the e-mails superfluous and not a little annoying so I might turn them off. It's so much simpler than the old Forum layout.

I've added this issue you are experiencing as a bug - hopefully we can help narrow down and figure out why this is happening, and the best way to rectify the situation.

ok, a few days ago i added a bunch of news articles to send me emails, i have not gotten one, but if its a pure forum post i do get a reply.

personally, i use google talk and get instant updates when i get an email, so the moment anything was replayed to i knew... for me at the very least that was my preferred way to get updates. im glad to know it is at the very least being looked into.

regardless of the outcome, thank you
!
