I am thinking of spending from $30-40 on a new headset that must have:

- USB connectivity
- Noise cancelling microphone
- Good quality bass
- Not easily breakable

I was thinking of getting:

- Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 (here)

My friend has one and I have listened to the sound on it. It had very good bass on it and it was really immersive....at least by my untrained ear. What do you guys think?

I own a Steelseries 5h V2 USB gaming headset. It has great microphone quality, and it is extremely durable. If you are not convinced if it is durable.. with the SteelSeries headset, you can actually break the headset into three pieces for travel purposes which is impressive. It blocks out some noise from the background but not all of it. Listening to music on this headset is no problem to me with impressive bass. It is very comfortable as well with actual headphone cups that go around your ear instead of ones that hang off your ear.

However, with the spending budget you mentioned, this headphone may not meet that requirement. It is usually priced at $59 but the Steelseries 5h V2 headset without the USB connectivity costs $30 - 50.
