Hey guys, this is my first time ever building a computer, and I'm a bit overwhelmed. I have literally no idea if my current idea for a build is compatible. And if you have any suggestions to make my build better, I'd like to hear them, like I said, I'm a complete noob at this, literally everything I know about building a computer I learned in a few hours of poking around Google.

CPU: Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz LGA 1155 Processor ($230)
Hard Drive: Toshiba 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive DT01ACA100 - OEM ($60)
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard ($130)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Series 8GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Memory Modules) ($63)
Graphics: 03G-P4-3663-KR NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti Superclocked+ 3072MB PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card ($335)
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 600 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply ($65)
DVD: LG 24x Super Multi Internal SATA DVDRW DL Drive - Bare Drive ($17)
Case: Diablotek EVO Mid Tower ATX Computer Case ($38)

Grand Total: $938 at my local Micro Center.

Looks good there not much to improve on. The only thing I could think of (even though you're getting the i7 at that fantastic price) would be to get the i5 (more than enough power) and then get a 7970 or a 670 as it can be fit in the budget then.

Also the case may or may not be good do your homework on that one but it's not a crucial component.

I would recommend picking up an aftermarket CPU cooler so that you can make use of the i7k or i5k as the stock fan is not that great.

Even though the 3770k is like $70 cheaper than normal, the i5-3570k is about $50-60 cheaper than normal too. Also, you could get the i5-3570k + mobo bundle which saves you $50 off mobo. That could cut like $80-100 right there which could be invested onto the gpu. Your 660ti is way overpriced, a 660ti should cost like $300. I would suggest buying only the cpu+mobo from microcenter and the rest online since it's going to be cheaper.

Yeah I need to make sure that case works before I buy it, I kinda just picked one that looked pretty. But thanks for the input!

Hmm, thanks I'll consider that.
