Kernel Panic - not syncing; fatal machine Check on curren cpu

I recently started the build process of my new gaming rig. Only problem is I hit a snag when it came to the first boot. (I am running an AMD phebnm II 965 by the way) I started it up for the fist tme and i got theerror mssage in the title. I am really at a loss right now. If anone can help me out it would be greatly apprecited. I can post aditional specs one I get a response from someone. Thanks

Clearly a HW problem; make sure everything is plugged in correctly, proper BIOS settings, etc.

This is what I thought, I just do not want to purchase another part and then still have the same problem.
