Yo guys I'm building a new gaming rig here I need suggestion of a gud processor for gaming only here are the part I'm buying by the way
Sapphire radeon HD 7850 2 gb gddr5 , corsair ddr3 4 gb ram, corsair cmpsu 600w 6 Sata ,gigabyte ga-b75m-d3h mother board so there are the parts now I thought of taking a intel i3 but many people said amid is better yada, yada, yada so now I need a amd gaming processor which is below 10000 INR (rs) and wch is better overall??? Intel or amd for gaming???? Plz help me guys

under rs 10000 there is no good amd cpu.there is only 2 which is fx 4100 and fx 6100 but they are are not good for gaming.i3 3220 will easily beat fx 6100 even i3 is dual core and fx 6100 is 6 core cpu.

or just add 1k more and get i5 3470

ya but i3 has very strong single threaded performance (per core) as compared to fx 8120

an FX 6300 is the ideal choice. Ask a local vendor to get it for you. It will be below 10K for sure. I checked the price a couple of months back and it was available in Pune for around 8-9K. Remember, local prices will be cheaper than flipkart. Close to the prices on Hardwire but sometimes even lower.

Now as far as 8120 goes, it will pair decently with a 7870 and you will hit a minimum 50-60 fps on ultra in games which tax the cpu. Most of the reviews that you'll see on 8120 will be dated and not accurate as there have been patches released for FX line. Intel processors will beat it no doubt but that difference is meaning less at 1080p as you will see fluid motion while playing games. Also in the above review Ashish is correct on saying that i3 will beat it but it's not true for all games. dual cores with HT will start struggling with newer games and multi cores will become a requirement.

Also the above table is a bit ambiguous as it does not tell you how exactly the gaming experience scale with games and resolution. Assuming a G860 can play BF3 with a 7870 @ 1080p with a mild bottle neck 30-50 fps, saying a 25% increase with 8120 results in 38-62.5 fps and i3 will be
42-70 fps.

an 8120 is very close to 8150 and a detailed comparison looks like this: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/434?vs=677
8120 will beat the i3.

fx 6300 is avalable in india?

yep a local vendor here in Pune told me he can get it. They get it from their guys in Mumbai. I do not know how that dealer network works but it sure was available. I'll go check back again with them and share a contact with you when possible.

^ Interesting. they however say only 8350 is available but Hardwire is retailing 8320's as well: http://hardwire.in/6-amd
as an after thought I think, some vendors may be stocking up on them through the ebay direct import option. I say that coz I've never seen 6300's on display but only as "available on demand".

I have a amd 8150 and people always talk about the benchmarks and so
Games run good on highest settings at 1920x1080
Think of it like having to choose between a car that goes 160 and one that does 180
160 is more than enough and at a way cheaper price from my point of view.
on my Amd adobe premier and so run flawlessly... I was really satisfied with my Amd but I have never tried a Intel i3 so dont take my word for it to much
and sidenote most applications dont use all full 8 cores :( but maybe new improvements will use these rescources more properly in the future...the good thing is I belive my processor is future proof for a good while :D

K guys tux for the replays but this all depends on the card I'm taking if I'm taking sapphire hd 7850 then I'm taking i3 or amd but if I'm taking gtx 650 ti zotac or sapphire 7770 then I'm taking i5

i agree with you as for most guys performance of fx 8120 or fx 6100 is enough for them but there are also guys who want more performance!!

i5 + gtx 650ti looks good to me as it will easily handle games at 1280*1024res.even though hd 7850 is faster

many games will really like quad core in future
