SSD external HDD

A while ago I bought a 2.5 inch enclosure and the HDD I put in there is a bit temperamental. I have a 60GB SSD spare and I was planning on putting it in there, anyone know of any reasons not to use an SSD as an external drive or should I go for it?

You can use it for an external drive but it is waste.
