Tax returns for me usually mean upgrading my PC. And this year shall be no different. Except Im going small this time. Everything works great. I just need/want some better cooling.

First I want to change my cpu cooler. I dont want to mess with water. So please don't suggest it, or ask why I don't. I just don't.

I have an AMD athlon x2 6000+ 3.0ghz. with stock cooling on it.
What is a good fan for this, that I can also use at a later time when I decide to upgrade the CPU?
Case size isn't an issue. It's a big'un.

While were at it how about a cooler for a GTX 550ti?
And if possible keep fans between 40-50 dollar range.

Thank you in advance.

If you have room for the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO, it will be a great addition. But it's big. The fan is 120mm.

I've never known anyone that bothered with add-on cooling or aftermarket cooling for the lowly GTX 550ti. But if you want to go for it, Newegg has a good selection. Any one of which will be more than enough for the 550ti. Just pick one you like:

Its not the best card no. But it's not lowly its high mid range... But are most gfx coolers swappable between NVIDIA cards. If I buy one for the gfx I would like it to carry over to my next card.

Yeah I was looking at the 212. Looks badass. As for room. I don't really need to worry. I even heard I could set up another fan on that one for push/pull. Is it worth it? My Pc was a little hot so i need all the cooling i can get. but maybe it was becaue my Psu was going bad. No way to be sure it was my ald psu until my new one arrive tomorrow.

OK, I'll retract the word "lowly" ;)

The EVO is indeed worth the cost. It is one of the most often recommended coolers here at Tom's. Check Amazon.uk, they might have it cheaper. Especially if you are a Prime member.

I just noticed you are on the UK server.

I have never found the need for an aftermarket cooler for my card(s). So I'm probably not the one to ask about interchangeability.
