Need to buy a printer that can be accessed through laptop and desktop

I have a desktop running on windows xp sp3 and its connected to a dsl router-modem through ethernet cable.
2 laptops (windows 7) are using the wifi of the same router.
I need to accomodate a laser printer in this environment.
Wireless printers are costly.
Can a network printer (that is not wireless) be accessed by the laptops through wifi?

Yes it can. Just make sure the printer has an ethernet-port so you can connect it to the wireless router.
In fact, such printers are less trouble to set up than a wireless printer, and do not have communication problems with the router which wireless printers are notorious for.
