Concern about buying SSD

I can probably only afford a 128gb ssd. I am worried about a scenario that has me forced to load something huge on the boot drive and wasting all of my space. Is this a valid concern? I know Steam is a great alternative, but what about EA games, etc? Will they make you install to C:?

EA does not force you to do anything like that, sorry for the shitty screenshot, running Origin on wine (Doesn't work well):-

Literally nothing forces you to install to C:, since windows ME nearly every program has had a Install to [...] button somewhere on their install UI.

And if worse comes to the worse, symbolic links for the win?
