Help With Reformatting Windows 7 PC

I have an Asus Windows 7 laptop. I would like to reformat the HDD. Of course the system came pre-installed with windows 7. I am curious as to weather I can re-format my HDD and then reinstall with my system repair disc. If that is not possible what steps to I need to take to be able to wipe my system clean and then re-install windows without purchasing any software.

Most laptops come with a system restore partition that allows you to reinstall the OS. It may be best to contact the store you purchased it from, just to be sure.
