I recently bought 2 new memory kits which appear to have some problems. The memory kits are Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB DDR3 1600MHz CMD16GX3M2A1600C9. The quad channel kit is not available here in Greece so I decided to buy 2 of them. My motherboard is an ASUS P9X79 WS. The system boots without problems either by using auto,XMP or manual option 1333 or 1600. However after starting Windows the system freezes and reboots. Tried MemTest and there are no problems with the memory and the kits installation is correct according to the Asus motherboard manual. I tried to ''play'' with the voltages between 1.5 to 1.55 but the problems still remain. The system works fine only by using two or three DIMMs. Could anybody help me?

Have you connected the additional power cable that fits in the port on the top left side of the board? Between the back panel connectors and the left memory slots. It is a 8pin connector.

When you populate a bit amount of memory modules you need extra current to get some stability.

I'll take a look at it and ill report back.. Do you mean the EATX12V power cable connector of the ASUS P9X79 WS board? Thank for the reply Ballantin!
