monitor goes blank when i connect LAN , and restarting when i disconnect

My computer connected to BSNL modem through LAN - when i switch on computer monitor goes blank -system remains running and when i turn off the modem or if i unplug the LAN ,computer get restart----i tried changing cable and installed PCI LAN card and i finally installed OS - still problem repeat-------
plz solve the problem ---thank u

Everything works fine with the computer is the network is not attached? If yes, you tried a new cable and a new card and even new OS, looks like the modem is the issue then, you ruled out everything else pretty well.

Problem solved- I changed SMPS .
First time - i ever saw this type of problem since 10 years

Problem identified - onboard LAN s flow of current is not proper from SMPS --so replace with newone working fine
