just bought a 6450 for an HTPC
MSI R6450-MD1GD3/LP Radeon HD 6450

was wondering what the best way is to connect it to an old TV?
The TV only has s-video or the normal RCA composite (red yellow white) inputs

so far my research has led me to the following options:
Option 1
DVI to RCA
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041901&p_id=2398&seq=1&format=2
as suggested by another thread on this forum...However I dont think it will work with the 6450...
" This adapter is specifically designed to work only with the following ATI Video Cards:

All-In-Wonder 8500
All-In-Wonder 8500DV
Radeon 9500 series
Radeon 9550 series
Radeon 9600 series
Radeon 9700 series
Radeon 9800 series "

Option 2
VGA to RCA/Svideo

this is a converter which I think would work?
anyone have any luck with these?

Are there any other options out there?

will something like this work?
http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-AUD-2350-S-Video-Adapter/dp/B000V6W7ZY/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363797957&sr=1-8&keywords=vga+to+rca

I know im not going to get great quality and text will be blurry on the TV but as long as movies and stuff are watchable its ok by me

THANKS for any help

Dear newbosaurusrex,
I think option 2 is the best.
I'd buy this one + a SVideo cable (i know because i use SVideo cable to see my desktop on my old Nokia tv :D )
http://www.amazon.com/Lake-Converter-compatible-Windows-S-Video/dp/B00351VWKI/ref=sr_1_17?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363797728&sr=1-17&keywords=vga+to+component+converter
Im not realy sure in Option 1 nor http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-AUD-2350-S-Video-Adapter/dp/B000V6W7ZY/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363797957&sr=1-8&keywords=vga+to+rca
But remember! You wont be able to hear sounds like in HDMI mode!
I hope this post helps you!
PM me if you did something :D
