Hyper Transport flood sync error

This is coming up on my husbands MSI laptop at regular intervals. it is random and you have to restart when it happens. We have done nothing to it to cause this. Don't understand about this overclocking and that can't be the reason anyway as we haven't touched anything. Could something be about to fail like the cpu or motherboard. The fan is working and it is not getting too hot or anything.
Any help or advise in plain english would be helpful.

Will do that in the morning, why do you think that might help? We have norton and its always up to date. But thanks for the help, will post and let you know what comes up. Thanks.

Not found any problems with virus scan, any more ideas mate!
