power solution for ati 5650

i was playing Arma 3 alpha with this gfx on 18 fps medium settings :
the laptop was plugged in to the power when the power of the house went off and the fps went amazingly from 18 to 34 !!!!!!!!
i guess thats power problem any known solution ??

Nope its power save man. The computer runs slower to save energy. When plugged in it goes into high performance.
