Is Galaxy GeForce GTX680 GC 4GB a good choice for my graphics card?
Does anyone have any experience with Galaxy as a graphics card brand? Are their products reliable? I'm looking for a 4GB GTX 680 card and this one caught my eye.
The reason I am interested in 4GB is for future proofing and the possibility of multiple monitor gaming down the road. I know that most (if not all) current games when run on a single monitor will not require 4GB, but I don't want to upgrade my card for at least a couple of years.
I've looked at cards from Asus, MSI, Galaxy, Gigabyte, PNY, EVGA, Zotac, ECS, Sparkle, and Sapphire. Though I think Sapphire only produces cards based on AMD chips. As I missing any brands?
I've been comparing the clock speeds of all the 4GB cards and this Galaxy card is tied with the EVGA Classified for the highest speeds with a base clock of 1110 Mhz and a boost clock of 1176 Mhz. There are 2GB cards with higher speeds, but I am looking at 4GB only. I've heard good things about EVGA, but the Galaxy card is $100 less expensive ($489 at Tiger Direct currently).
So does anyone have experience with this Galaxy card, or Galaxy as a brand? Any suggestions for cards I may have overlooked? As stated previously, I do plan on getting a 4GB card.
