Hey guys, I have a HP P7-1243 desktop. It has a LGA1155 socket on the Joshua-H61-uATX motherboard. I'm planning to upgrade my CPU to a quad-core.
On the HP site they list the processors the motherboard supports, like the i5 3xxx's. But the CPU I want is the i5-3570K and I'm not sure if it supports it.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

That board won't overclock, so a 3570k is a waste. Save about $20 dollars and get a 3470. The performance between the two @ stock won't be noticeable.

it would support it, but having a 3570k is useless with the chipset of the mobo. You wont get the full potential of OC of the 3570k if you have a chipset that doesn't support over clocking.

if you want to stick with your mobo get the i5 3470.
if you want to stick with a i5 3570k, i suggest you upgrade to a z77 chipset (get either ASUS,MSI,Asrock w/c ever is the cheaper)

Thanks for the info guys, do you guys think the i5-3570 is worth $15 more than the i5-3470 for an extra 0.2ghz?

if you still plan to upgrade in the future then it is. i'm planning to get the same before the end of the month, just waiting for my supply here in th philippines.

but if you want to stick with your board and stuff just get the 3470.

personally, i'll go with the 3570k since you can use that as a core item if you plan to upgrade your PC incase your HP parts die out and ran out of warranty, (used to work for HP Technical support and I know the warranty coverage sucks)
