GTX 460 not recognised

Hello guys, I have recently bought a new graphics card (NVIDIA GTX460) and I managed to install it onto the motherboard. The computer turns on and the fans spin on the card so I know it works. However, when I go into device manager the card is not there and when I downloaded the right drivers from the GeForce website, the installer won't recognize the card either.

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 645
GPU: Gigabyte GV-N460OC-1GI
PSU: Corsair GS600
Motherboard: BIOSTAR N68S3+

Disable the card in device manager, Run driver cleaner, Reinstalled the drivers. Should work for you. Reset the card in the slot.

I can't disable the card in device manager because it isn't there in the first place, only thing that shows up in there is the on-board graphics. Also I don't appear to have a driver cleaner on the computer, is it something that you download separately?

Go into bios settings and change pcie onboard to off. You know what setting I am talking about when you see it.

I have disabled the on-board card and I took out and put back in the new card. The driver still does not recognize the new one.

No, I have been using this windows for quite some time now. Would say roughly a year.

Card is used. I don't think it's anything to do with the card though, since it actually switches on and works fine.

OK so assuming it's a working card have you tried deleting all the Nvidia .dll files from the system32 folder and then tried to install the newest WHQL?

Just because the card powers on does not mean its good.
