Which CPU should I go with?

Over the past few weeks, I've been putting together an idea of a workstation/gaming computer.

I've decided everything (well, got a good idea, will probably make another forum later) on components, however, I'm really stuck on CPU and motherboard.

I'll give a brief overview, plus the other component list then give my options (that I thought of, obviously I'm open to new options)

I was pretty set on Haswell, but I recently read some articles and it seems the new 4770k will barely out perform the current Ivy Bridge 3770k.

My computer will be used mainly for standard home use (for uni assignments and internet browsing), coding, gaming (high end, heavily modded) and some video & 3D work. May overclock, but not to extreme.

So the current specs will look something like this:
Ram: Corsair/Mushkin/G.Skill, 16gb, Cas 8 or 9, 1.3-1.5voltage, 1600-1866mhz (depends on chipset)
Graphics: 3x EVGA GTX680 4gb (maybe FTW) in Tri-SLI
PSU: Corsair/Seasonic 1000w+ Platinum efficiency
CPU Cooling: Noctua DH-D14
SSD: Samsung 840/Intel 520 256gb drives
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black/Red 2tb (2 in Raid0)
Case: NZXT Phantom 630 w/ Sentry fan controller
Fans for case: Corsair SP Performance for intakes, Corsair SP Quiets for outtake.

What I've thought of so far for CPU/Mobo is
1155: i7-3770k + Asus P8Z77 WS
2011: i7-3820 + ???????
OR, should I wait for:
1150: i7-4770k + Asus ROG Formula?

I was thinking about the 3930k, but I realize with the i7-3820 I can (if I need to) upgrade the cpu later on when Ivy Bridge-E comes out, and if Haswell-E comes on the 2011 platform.

I want to utilize my gpu's, I'll be running them on 3x Asus PA248Q @ 57x12 resolution.

So yeah, what option should I go with? Or what would be a better option. Budget is no issue, but obviously, I'd like to spend less. But, if I spend more, I want to spend smart.

Thanks in advance.

Word of advise don't judge a processor until it has been released and you can see how it holds up as a release products. If you need the system now go iwth the Intel Core i7-3930K. If you can wait see how our next generation processor stack up and if you need you will still be able to pick whatever you want.

Thanks for the advice. I've heard the new 4770k is on another level (from a source I shall keep quiet xD) and it seems like something to look forward too.

So you believe I should go with the 2011 platform? Would going with 3820 and upgrading cpu once Ivy Bridge-E comes out be smart?
Also, what would be a good motherboard for the set up?

From the spec's I can see on the 4770k it isn't going to be a whole lot faster than the current set of i7 processors. Maybe a 10% gain at best, but based on the specs that is not likely.

Toms got their hands on one recently and say the major increases are in the onboard graphics, with some architectural changes that allow it to work faster with lower power consumption.

If that is true, I can only see myself benefiting from the power efficiency. Seems like it's either Ivy Bridge or Sandy Bridge-E.

I reckon I will probably end up going with the 3770k and a Asus P8Z77 WS to save on costs. The WS has plentiful features, it has PLX which will give me an edge over other Z77 Mobos for my 3 GTX680's and it has plenty of room for extras.

As mentioned earlier, the 4770k seems like a bit of a waste I may not see much benefit from it, and the 3820 may be a better option for upgrading in the future, but I want to build this baby for now, and not have to upgrade for a long while (unless it's water cooling)

Anyway, thanks for the answers :D you guys were helpful!
