Iv decided to upgrade my gaming pc and im thinking of buying a GTX 660 ti.my current specs are below.iv been comparing different versions over the last few days and noticed the Palit gtx 660 ti jetstream is far superior (in my eyes i dont know alot tbh) to any other 660 ti on the market, yet on a populairty list on a website called scan (there the uk version of newegg) its 11th,why is the EVGA,MSI,ASUS etc versions more popular? when i was looking at benchmarks the Jetstream was the same as the gtx 670s,except for the memory bus.Am i missing something or are people just sticking with known brands? is palit a bad brand? iv posted some specs below of different cards,so no one would have to search themselfs etc.the jetstream has the exactly base and boost clock as the evga GTX 670!.Its also cheaper.

Palit GTX 660 Ti JetStream
core clock 1006
boost clock 1084
(scan also states that the memory clock is 100 mhz higher then all the others)

EVGA GTX660Ti SC
core clock 980 mhz
boost clock 1059

Asus GTX660Ti DirectCU II Overclocked
core clock 915 mhz
boost clock 980 mhz

MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti Overclocked
core clock 941 mhz
boost clock 1019 mhz

MY SPECS

AMD FX 8350 4.0 ghz
8 GB 1333 mhz ram
GTX 560 ti
650 w OCZ PSU

660ti is only faster than a 670 in that instance because its overclocked, its not like the 670 is totally locked down and cant be overclocked too, it stomps the 660ti after being overclocked.

The Asus one is the best of those, undoubtedly the quietest and coolest running. That said, take a 7950 into very serious consideration, its far, far faster for the same price.

whys the asus one better? the clock speeds are so much better on the jetstream,i currently havr the asus direct cu 2 560 ti so ino wot u mean by great cooling,i also have 4 case fans tho.iv found some 7950s and for example the asus direct cu 2 7950 base clock is 900 mhz, much lower then the jet stream and its more expensive.not by alot though

Alright. The clock speeds between two different cards provide absolutely no bearing what so ever for how fast it is. For example a 670 runs at a base clock of 915Mhz and a 520 at 1000Mhz, guess which is 10x faster.

The Palit cooler is crappy, hot and loud considering the others. Totally disregard clock speeds altogether, it takes about 5 seconds to bump the clock speed bar up in MSI Afterburner and hit apply.

The 7950 is faster than the 660ti by a considerable margin, its better compared to the 670 (and after both are overclocked, the 7950 is even faster than that, given its extra overclock headroom).

oooo,so say for example i dont want to overclock my card, would the 670 still be worth getting over a 660 ti? whenn i use a single display?im not to kean going to amd graphics card because of past driver support etc.is a 670 worth then extra £100 compared to the 660 ti?
