Hello All,

I really don't know if the latest games will be able to run on my computer. I have had experiences before where the installation of a game will NOT continue unless I have an appropriate graphics card. Lucky for me, I do have a graphics card that can run all of the latest games, according to system minimum requirements. The only category that doesn't pass a sys requirements lab test is the CPU section. Does anyone have any experiences with a video game while using a CPU that is under the system requirements? Does the installer still allow you to install? My computer specs are as follows:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Pentium E6600 Dual-Core 3.06GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2 800MHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550TI 1GB GDDR5
HDD(s): 1-250GB SATA, 1- 1TB SATA HDD's

GPU Specs:

Memory: 1GB GDDR5
CUDA Cores: 192
Graphics Clock: 910MHz
Processor Clock: 1.8GHz
Memory Data Rate: 4.1GHz
Memory Interface: 192-Bit
Mem. Bandwidth: 98.50GB/s
PCI Express x16

Supports: Direct X 11.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Chris C.

P.S. Latest games are referred to as MW3, Black Ops 2, etc.

Yeah you should be able to install, some games might not let you though, and its pointless too anyways, you should just upgrade your cpu because either way, if it doesn't meet minimum, its gonna bottleneck, I recommend upgrading to an i5 3570k

Absolutely, the I5 is one of the best CPUs out there and it's only 200 bucks or so. The thing is that your motherboard is not compatible with the I5 so if you are eventually going to get a new CPU, you are pretty much going to have to change other stuff too.

Oh yes! Exactly, forgot to mention motherboard compatibility, very important, so do some research before you buy. :)

I agree very much with the CPU upgrade. Unfortunately, I have an OEM version of Win 7 and don't really want to spend the money for a new OS, MB, and CPU. My biggest concern is that most retailers will not allow you to return an open PC game. (Due to piracy)

Don't worry about it being oem version, your just switching out CPU, should be fine. I've done it before, even if you switch out the motherboard, should be able to work, although I have never switched out a CPU+mobo, but I doubt you'll have any issues.

Thanks very much for all of your help. I probably will get a Intel Core 2 Quad. It should still have the 775 socket size so that shouldn't be a problem, so thanks.
