I'm in the process of doing my first build from the ground up and I need some advice on which 670 to get, the 2 or 4gb. I plan on running a three monitor setup, all 1080p.

Is the 2gb card enough to run current/future games at high settings? The 4gb would obviously have an advantage, but is it wort the extra $$?

Thanks for the input!

A 670 will drop dead in terms of framerate before it fills up 2GB. Assuming you are going SLI (1x 670 for a resolution that high is a big ask), 4GB, if not, 2GB.

The first thing I'd say Is you will have to run SLI. A single 670 just can't run 5760 x 1080 at decent frame rates.

As far as the 2gb vs 4gb you have to decide if it is worth it to you. It is not a must. Some games will use more memory if it is available but none require more. I have 4gb 670's in SLI. To me with the amount I was already spending on my rig it was worth it to me to get the 4gb cards.

You can run with a single 670, you just can't play at high detail settings. Without the high details, particularly AA, you'd never run out of 2gb of vram, short of mods (such as Skyrim with mods).

A lot of times we forget that you can lower settings to achieve the FPS you need for smooth game play.

In his question he asks if he can run current and future games on high settings. You are right put settings on med or low and he might get decent FPS but he was asking about high settings.
