Hello, I'm an idiot and forgot to plug my pump back into my GPU. I was browsing the net for about 10 minutes before my computer just shut down. I started it back up, and it shut back down. So i check my cabling and saw the glaring problem, and reconnected and all 'seems' well. It had no cooling (except case fans) and it's temperature was in free-rise

My question is, do you think this did permament damage? Or is the new generation cards like mine equipped to prevent permament damage?

You're probably fine.

You're fine, luckily. I did something very similar a phew months ago with my 560 and it just blew, wouldn't boot. Complete short circuit across the card.
